In order to speak about education, you should know the appropriate vocabulary.
Words to remember:
State system – free system.
Nursery school – a school for children between the ages of about two and five.
Primary school – in the U.K. and other countries, a school for children between five and eleven years old.
Secondary school – a school for older children, usually children aged approximately 14-18.
Comprehensive school – a school in the UK for children above the age of eleven of all abilities.
Grammar school – in the UK, a school for children aged between eleven and 18 who have passed an examination that shows they are good at studying.
Leave school – finish school.
Timetable – a detailed plan showing when events or activities will happen.
Subject– an area of knowledge that is studied in school, college, or university.
Some examples:
We study different subjects at our school.
My brother is very smart. He is going to attend comprehensive school.
She doesn’t want to continue her education, so she will leave school soon.
My small sister likes playing games in nursery school.
